Seeing Colombia in its beauty - in keeping with this vision, Ames is developing a unique collection of furniture and home decor manufactured in Colombia. Founded in 2006 by Ana María Calderón Kayser and her husband Karl-Heinz Kayser, the company predominantly uses the country’s traditional natural materials and craft techniques for their collection.
The compact Mecato benches, designed by Pauline Deltour, feature a minimalist design enhanced by the texture of the hand-woven seat covers and the beauty of Colombian craftsmanship. Suitable for all indoors environments, the seat is covered with a handwoven fabric made with the fibres of the Iraca palm.
Born in France, Pauline Deltour’s aesthetic is defined by being strikingly simple and beautifully detailed at once. Her designs showcase a curiosity in the qualities of the raw materials and transferring production techniques between disciplines.
